Prince George, B.C. – One of northern B.C.’s favourite hiking trails will be closed for much of September.

The Ministry of Transportation says the Ancient Forest will be closed for construction as work continues on highway intersection improvements and parking lot upgrades “to increase the safety and accessibility of the new park.

Highway 16 will also be reduced to single-lane alternating traffic while the work is completed.

The closures and traffic delays will take place on the following days:

• Tuesday September 6 to Friday September 9
• Monday September 12 to Friday September 16
• Monday September 19 to Friday September 23
• Open on weekends
