Prince George, B.C. – The hard work and dedication of the Rocky Mountain Rangers was recognized at the Prince George Legion last night.

The Legion hosted an appreciation night for the roughly 60 reservists following their evening training session.20160921_205808-1

They were piped in and greeted by Prince George Mayor Lyn Hall who expressed his thanks.

“I really wanted to be here and it was an opportunity for me to come by and thank them on behalf of the residents of the city for the commitment they’ve made not only to the community but the entire nation. These are our reserves and they can be called up at any time.”

Captain and Commanding Officer Michael Oviatt was pleased with the reception they received.

“We really appreciate the support we’ve gotten here in Prince George all the way through,” he said, noting the reservists here are some of the most dedicated he’s seen.

“We have individuals who come into work for the reserves and they are losing money every time they come in. They’re not doing it for the pay check, they’re here to serve their country.”
