Pedestrian Struck and Killed in Quesnel
Quesnel, B.C. – One person was killed and another injured after they were struck by a vehicle in Quesnel Friday night.
Quesnel RCMP Sgt. Chris Riddle says it happened at the corner of Front Street and Carson Avenue just after 7:00 p.m.
He says a 38-year-old man and a 35-year-old woman who were both pedestrians were struck by a southbound vehicle near the intersection.
Riddle says the man later died in hospital from his injuries while the woman was treated for minor injuries and released.
He says the driver of the vehicle remained on scene. Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the collision.
Riddle says the crash closed the area to traffic for several hours while investigators examined the scene.
The name of the deceased is not being released. The investigation is ongoing.
