Poppy Campaign Launched
Prince George BC -it is a simple red flower but it conveys a powerful message.
This morning the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 43 in Prince George launched its poppy campaign.
The poppy is not only a symbol of remembrance for those who made the ultimate sacrifice serving Canada in times of war, it has also become a symbol of support for veterans and their families and those who continue to serve.
MLA Shirley Bond told those who gathered for this morning’s campaign kick off that she is “hopeful more and more Canadians will wear a poppy. It is a simple act of remembrance and gratitude.”

The proceeds from poppy sales support programs for veterans says Branch 43 President Margaret Goings “It helps our vets so we can have the money available to help them when they need it.”
The message of remembrance should be carried long past November 11th says Goings “Remember our vets everyday, always remember them.”
