Prince George, B.C. – The Prince George RCMP has revealed the reason for the Giscome Road closure on Saturday.

Corporal Craig Douglass says it was closed after a 24-year-old woman allegedly jumped from a moving vehicle at around 5:00 a.m. that morning.

He says police attended the hospital where the intoxicated woman was being treated for serious injuries and called in the RCMP’s Serious Crime Unit and an RCMP Collision Reconstructionist to assist.

Douglass says a portion of the road where the incident occurred was closed for about five hours while evidence was gathered.

He says the driver of the vehicle, a 28-year-old man, brought the woman to hospital and is cooperating with police. Although the investigation is ongoing, he says there is no evidence to suggest foul play was a factor in what happened.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call police.
