Downtown Drug Bust
Prince George, B.C. – Two people were arrested for drug related offences this afternoon.
One arrest ocurred just before 5:00 p.m. when police executed a search warrant at a business on Third Avenue and George Street in downtown Prince George.
The bust occurred at what police are calling a bogus store front that had been dealing marijuana and hard drugs, including heroin.
“We believe the business was being used as a store front for drug trafficking,” said Prince George RCMP Supt. Warren Brown. “We’ve had some unconfirmed information regarding drug trafficking for a month or so now, it’s taken some time to gather enough evidence to get a search warrant.”
He said the suspect will likely face drug trafficking related charges. Another person was arrested in relation to the bogus store front at a different downtown location. Their names were not released.
Brown noted the area is a hot spot for criminal code offences and is a place where police have received a lot of complaints from the business community for open drug dealing.
