Sally Ann Christmas Hamper Registration This Week
Prince George, B.C. – Those in need of a Christmas hamper this holiday season can register this week starting Wednesday.
You can also register Nov. 17, 23, 24, 30 and Dec. 1 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Prince George Salvation Army’s Wish Centre at 2221 Quinn Street.
Business manager Bill Glasgow says the hampers will include toys and all the food you need for Christmas dinner.
Though he’s unsure how many hampers the Salvation Army will give out this Christmas, Glasgow estimates they help 1,500 families, or 3,800 people a month, with food hampers.
He says they also have another program to help the less fortunate.
“We’re doing an angel tree program where we’re going to have Christmas trees at most of the toy stores in town,” says Glasgow.
“And on the tree, will be little angels and on the back, will be a child’s age and sex and a suggested toy. So, if somebody wants to help, they just buy the toy and bring it down to our Christmas Wish Centre and make a donation.”
