Big 50/50 Jackpot Expected at Tonight’s Cougars Game

Friday, November 18, 2016 @ 11:45 AM

Prince George, B.C. – One lucky fan at tonight’s Prince George Cougars/Prince Albert Raiders game is going to walk away a whole lot richer.

A mega jackpot is expected tonight because of a generous $20,000 donation from the Northland Auto Group.pg-cougars

The local car company will purchase $20,000 worth of 50/50 tickets and will give a $10 ticket to the first 2,000 fans, who are 19 years of age or older, starting at noon today at the Cougars box office at CN Centre.

Cougars business v-p Andy Beesley expects that pot to grow substantially considering 4,000 tickets have already been sold for tonight’s game.

“It should be epic, it should be outrageous, and it should be huge in every sense of the word. We don’t know how big the pot is going to be, we just know that it’s going to be huge.”

He says the last time the team held an event like this the team had to cut sales off at $67,000 because the demand was too much for their equipment to handle. However, Beesley says that won’t be a problem this time around because the team has modernized their 50/50 system.

Another big winner tonight will be the Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation who will share the jackpot with the winner.

Puck drop tonight is 7:00 p.m.
