Regional District Re-elects Kaehn as Chair, Burgess as Vice Chair
Prince George, B.C. – The Regional District of Fraser-Fort George (RDFFG) has re-elected two familiar faces.
Yesterday, the board of directors re-elected Art Kaehn (Electoral Area E – Hixon-Woodpecker) as chair, and Terry Burgess (Electoral Area G – Crooked River-Parsnip) as vice chair, at their monthly public meeting.
Kaehn retains the role he’s held at the regional district since 2007 while Burgess previously served as vice chair from 2009-2011 and again from 2015 to the present.
“It’s a great honour to be reelected as chairperson for 2017,” said Kaehn. “The past year was a great year of growth for the board working as a team and I look forward to working with vice chair Terry Burgess and staff again.”
Moving forward he said he looks forward to collaborating with “our northern neigbours” including First Nations and partner communities. Kaehn says taxpayers of course will be top of mind too.
“To make sure the budget is prudent and sustainable so that they can continue to enjoy the services that they need.”
Historically, the regional district has held its elections in December but recent changes to the Local Government Act now call for the elections to be held the first meeting after November 1.
