Another Suspicious Fire

Friday, December 9, 2016 @ 2:11 PM

Prince George, B.C. – The Prince George RCMP have been called in to investigate yet another suspicious fire.

Cpl. Craig Douglass says it’s the third in as many days – the latest occurring this morning at around 4:15 a.m. on Michael Road near North Nechako Road.

He says a car and the carport it was in were both damaged by fire before the flames could be extinguished. Nobody was hurt.

Douglass says a police arson investigator and the Forensic Identification Section attended the scene this morning and are treating the blaze as a case of arson.

This morning’s fire follows a suspicious vehicle and carport fire on Nixon Crescent in the Hart at around 3:30 a.m. yesterday and another at about 2 a.m. at a home on the 1200 block of Johnson Street on Wednesday. Nobody was hurt in those fires though both are also being treated as suspected arsons.

“We are aware of the fact that these three fires have occurred within a short period of time and have similar circumstances,” he says. “We are confident that someone has information that can further this investigation. We are asking them to call us.”

If you have any information call police at 250-561-3300 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
