Prince George, B.C. – Volunteers are needed to ensure Operation Red Nose has enough volunteers to satisfy demand on New Year’s Eve.

Spokesperson Andrea Johnson says they only have 26 teams lined up for New Year’s Eve and notes it’s “not enough to deal with the demand we expect of more than 200 rides.” 

Ideally, she says they’d like “to have at least 35 to 40 teams ring in the new year with us.”

Johnson says that equals 45 more volunteers. The deadline to apply is this Monday.

“The applications must be dropped off to the downtown RCMP detachment by the end of their business hours to give them enough time to process them in time.”

In the meantime, Johnson says Red Nose will be on the roads tonight and tomorrow night for those planning on heading out and enjoying a little holiday cheer.
