Prince George, B.C. – It’s shaping up to be a great day for skating in the snow in the great outdoors and, if you’re looking to do just that, there are a few options available to you today.
The Outdoor Ice Oval at Exhibition Park is in fine shape following the two weeks of freezing weather the majority of the province has just experienced. The oval is open from 1 to 4 pm today and you’re invited to take part by donation.
As well, the Hart Community Association is holding its 8th annual Skate with Santa this afternoon at the community rink on Ridgeview Drive. That skate is talking place from 1 to 3 pm and participants are invited to bring family and friends and enjoy hot chocolate and treats, as well as the outdoor skate.
Today’s high should be about minus 6 with periods of snow, providing excellent conditions for a fun outing.

A very big “Thank You” to all those volunteers who put their time and effort into keeping the outdoor public rinks going year after year. I grew up skating on outdoor rinks and frozen lakes for about 10yrs before ever skating at an indoor one.
