Celebration of Lights Opens Tonight

Sunday, December 18, 2016 @ 6:57 AM

Prince George, B.C. – A change in the weather, from brutal cold to much milder temperatures, comes just at the right time for the kick-off to the Railway and Forestry Museum’s annual Celebration of Lights tonight.

Taking in the celebration has become one of the fun family traditions of the holiday season in Prince George as the museum grounds are transformed into a winter wonderland under the glow of more than 100,000 lights.  You can hop aboard the Cottonwood Railway mini-rail and take a leisurely tour that provides a unique view of the eight acres of spectacular light displays.

New this year is the Christmas village display in Russell House, and you can listen to Christmas carols sung by local choirs, visit Santa and Mrs Claus, and enjoy hot chocolate, roasting hot dogs and making s’mores over a bonfire.

The Railway and Forestry Museum is open from 11 am to 8 pm each day, today through Friday, December 23rd.  The Celebration of Lights is on from 4 pm to 8 pm each of those days.  The museum will be open from 11 am to 6 pm Christmas Eve.
