Prince George, B.C.- Hydro crews are expected to be on scene this hour to deal with a power outage that is impacting more than 2900 customers in the north end of Prince George.
The outage is affecting residents in Salmon Valley, Summit Lake, Nukko Lake, Miworth, Chief Lake Road, east of Highway 97 north of Nordic Road, and west to Foothills Boulevard.
Power has been out since about 4:30 this afternoon.
The cause of the outage is not yet known, nor is there an estimated time for power to be restored.
I bet there are more than a few with the lights on and online in the red zone . Good news today from the CRTC . Internet service is now a Canadian essential service . About time !
Interesting. The lights flickered here on the Hart a couple of times, very briefly. I wonder if that was a side effect of this outage.
Yes, you saw the effects of the fault on a circuit different than the one you are on.
We’re in the affected area, power cam back on around 21:00
First test of our new-er 8 kw standby generator, allows us to run most things in the house. The old one still runs but at 3kw would keep only the heat and a few lights on.
I checked the Power On website and all it showed for over an hour was the Summit Lake area.
so much for their smart meters telling them where the problems are.
Oh right, the smart meters aren’t turned on yet.
