Police say the latest incident occurred yesterday afternoon just after 4:30 p.m. at the corner of Queensway and Connaught Drive.

The injured party was a 50-year-old male who was transported to hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

Investigators say that the 43-year-old female driver of a small car had just turned onto Queensway from Patricia Boulevard when the man stepped out onto the road in front of her.

The pedestrian was not using a crosswalk and told police he was in a hurry. It was also dark at the time of the collision and the pedestrian was wearing dark clothing.

Charges against the driver are not being considered at this time.

The incident came just one day after a 14-year-old girl was struck by a vehicle at the corner of Rainbow Drive and Liard Drive.

In that case the driver fled the scene but police later arrested a 31-year-old male suspect at a home on Irwin Street.

The girl was seriously injured.
