B & E Suspect In Custody
Prince George, B.C. -One man is in custody following a break and enter in the Hart area of Prince George.
Just after noon yesterday, a male was found inside a Valleyview Drive home. The suspect claimed to be a police officer, and fled the scene in a black Dodge pick-up before police were called.
Prince George RCMP officers were on their way to the b&e scene when they spotted the suspect vehicle heading southbound on Highway 97.
Police activated emergency lights , but the suspect vehicle failed to pull over. According to police, the pick up sped up and fled the area. Although police did not initiate a pursuit, moments later, the suspect vehicle lost control, struck a postal box and hit the ditch near the corner of Sloan and Shamrock roads.
Police say the lone suspect fled the vehicle on foot and tried to break in to another residence. The Dog Service was called in, and a suspect was arrested a short time later hiding in a neighbouring yard. He was taken to hospital for treatment of minor dog bite wounds.
A search of the vehicle revealed a loaded SKS rifle that had been stolen from a Prince George residence on December 18th.
30 year old Clayton Michael Hohmann from Quesnel, BC is facing the following Criminal Code charges approved by Crown Counsel:
- Break & Enter with Intent to Commit an Indictable Offence
- Attempted Break & Enter with Intent to Commit an Indictable Offence
- Personating a Peace Officer
- Fail to Stop for Police
- Occupy a Vehicle knowing there was a Firearm in the Vehicle
- Possess a Firearm without a Licence
- Mischief
This investigation is continuing.

He’s been out of jail for a few weeks now, he probably misses it.
