Prince George, B.C. – The Air Quality Advisory for Prince George has ended.
The Ministry of the Environment says the change in weather pattern has improved conditions and helped clear high levels of PM2.5 from the airshed.
As of 1 this afternoon, the 24 hour rolling average of PM 2.5 concentrations had dropped to 23.2 micrograms per cubic meter, the Provincial target is 25 micrograms per cubic meter.
The rescinding of the AQ advisory means the City’s Free Fare for Clean Air program, which allows for free transit when there is an air quality advisory, will come to an end at midnight tonight.
