Prince George, B.C. – Surgeons at St. John Hospital in Vanderhoof have a new set of tools at their disposal.

It’s all thanks to a fundraiser hosted by the Prince George Spruce Kings Saturday night helped raise $3,200 to fund a set of surgical instruments for use in ear, nose and throat procedures.

Vanderhoof and Districts Co-op sponsored the game in partnership with the Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation.

Donors included the Treasure Cove Casino ($1,000), FreFlyt Industries Inc. ($200), fans who purchased Spirit Bears and the Spruce Kings who donated the proceeds of their 50/50 draw.

“We at Vanderhoof and Districts Co-op believe that investing in our communities makes us stronger,” says general manager Allan Bieganski. “We are proud to have been able to join with the Spruce Kings in supporting the Spirit of the North Foundation to raise money to purchase surgical equipment for St. John Hospital.”
