Charges Laid in Double Homicide

Prince George, B.C. –  Two male suspects have been charged in relation to yesterday morning’s double homicide near the intersection of Foothills Boulevard and North Nechako Road in Prince George.

While Prince George RCMP are not yet releasing names,  the Court docket  for Prince George Provincial Courts indicates 27-year-old Aaron Ryan Moore and 33-year-old Joshua  Steven West  are to appear in court today to each face two counts of murder and one count of attempted murder with a firearm.

Police have brought in additional resources to assist in community safety and to search for additional suspects but say local residents are safe.

In a statement, police hint that the murders were gang related.

“Prince George RCMP wants to advise those individuals who choose a lifestyle of violence and threatening behaviour such as this that it will not be tolerated. We will act swiftly to assure Prince George and its residents are safe in every instance.”

Yesterday, police responded to a case of shots fired at around 2:40 a.m. in the area of Foothills Boulevard and North Nechako Road. Police arrived to find a vehicle with three adult males inside.Two of them were pronounced dead at the scene and one was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. No update was provided today on the health status of the third victim.

No other information has been released. The investigation – a massive effort involving Prince George Major Crime along with the assistance of North District Major Crime – is ongoing.
