Regional Innovation Tour Arrives in Prince George

Thursday, February 2, 2017 @ 5:47 AM

Prince George, B.C. – Local entrepreneurs, tech companies and more will be at the Civic Centre this afternoon to help ignite further innovation and job growth.

It’s being hosted by the BC Innovation Council – a Crown agency of the Province tasked with commercializing technology province-wide.

“It’s called the BC Regional Innovation Opportunities Tour and basically it will hit seven different parts of the province starting in Prince George,” says CEO Carl Anderson.

“It’s an opportunity for local businesses to collaborate with larger companies, government and entrepreneurs and propose solutions to their business challenges to growth.”

He says it’s a great chance to network and will even include larger companies like FortisBC, IBM, BC Stats and the Climate Action Secretariat.

“This provides companies in each community with an immediate market that could be translated into a national, and ultimately a worldwide market.”

The event starts following the Natural Resources Forum – about 4 p.m. – and will run for about four hours.

Admission is free.
