Prince George, B.C. – A nice boost for needy families in Prince George.

Staples has raised over $9,800 for the Salvation Army’s 2017 Back to School Program. The donation was marked with a cheque presentation on Tuesday.

“The money will cover everything,” said Bill Glasgow, business manager with the Prince George Salvation Army. “Books, paper, pencils, coloured pencils, and especially backpacks.”

He said the funds were raised through customer contributions to the Salvation Army’s donation bus and through the sale of iPod raffle tickets.

“And a very special thanks to the cashier there Debra who sold over $3,000 worth of tickets. She’s been a big supporter.”
