Prince George, B.C. – Prince George Fire Rescue responded to a structure fire on Cranbrook Hill this morning.

Acting Assistant Chief John Law says it broke out at about 11 a.m.at a single-family dwelling in the 800 block of Berger Road.

He says crews arrived to find smoke and flames coming from both sides of the building but thanks to a “fast offensive attack” were able to quickly douse the flames which appear to have started in the chimney before proceeding to the attic.

Two people were home at the time of the fire but escaped unharmed. No word yet on how much damage the fire caused.
