Prince George, B.C. – Prince George Fire Rescue responded to a structure fire early this morning.
It broke out at around 2:45 on the 1800 block of Upland Street. Crews from three halls arrived to find smoke coming from the side entrance of a single-family home.
Assistant Fire Chief John Law says “a fast offensive quickly extinguished the fire” which he notes appears to have been sparked by a piece of smoldering firewood that was on the outside deck.
One person was home when the fire broke out but escaped without injury. Damages are estimated at $5,000.
