Treasures in the Attic?
Prince George, B.C. – Once again, area residents are invited to take a close look at the items in their homes to see if perhaps there is a hidden treasure lurking in the china cabinet, bookshelf , closet, or basement.
Antique appraiser Ted Pappas will be in Prince George in late March to help owners learn more about the origins, value or function of items. It’s a fundraising event for the Huble Homestead/ Giscome Portage Heritage Society.
Pappas has 40 years o experience in the auction business and has seen or appraised practically anything you could imagine, from family heirlooms to garage sale deals, white elephant gifts to Star Trek collectibles signed by William Shatner.
There is a $15 cost to have an item appraised, and if the item stumps Pappas, he can at least point you in the direction of an expert who will have the answers. There is no charge if you just want to attend the event as a spectator.
You have plenty of time to sort through items to bring to the event, as it will take place in the atrium of Exploration Place on Saturday, March 25 and Sunday, March 26 from 10 until 4 each day.
