Kassel Misses Bronze by Less Than a Minute
Prince George, B.C. – University Hospital of Northern BC nurse, Nikki Kassel nearly made it to the podium again at the Klosters World Masters Cross Country Skiing Championships in Switzerland today.
She had picked up a silver medal on Saturday ( see previous story) in a 15 km race, and was taking part in today’s 10km race.
She finished with a time of 35:10.7 just 56.77 seconds behind the third place finisher, a skier from Finland, who took the bronze medal.
Kassel has one more race ahead of her, scheduled for Wednesday.
There are more than a thousand entrants from 30 different countries taking part in the various Klosters World Masters races which are taking place through to the 10th. Competitors have to be at least 30 years of age to participate, and races are broken down in categories of gender, age, length and style.
