100 Mile House, B.C. – Cariboo Search and Rescue officials say the two snowmobilers have been found safe and sound after spending the night on Mica Mountain near 100 Mile.

For some unknown reason the men were stranded on the mountain overnight but were prepared and were able to start a fire.

They were spotted by helicopter late Sunday morning and were reached by a search crew on the ground. The RCMP in 100 Mile House have now clarified the situation regarding the search for two overdue snowmobilers.

Sgt. Troy Durand says that two pair had been reported missing  to the 100 Mile House RCMP  around 9:00  Saturday night when they  failed to return home from  snowmobiling in the Spanish Mica Mountain area.

Sgt. Durand says some Vancouver media had reported two snowmobilers were also  missing in the Valemount area, however, it has been confirmed by the RCMP that there are no snowmobilers reported missing in the Valemount area at this time.

They are ok.

S&R found them? That would be awesome news.

Wish we would stop wasting resources searching for people who go off into the wilderness. Far as I’m concerned you sign a personal liability waiver as soon as you head out into the bush, prepared or otherwise.

Unless they happened to be members of your family, then that would be different, right?

And when you need help from emergency services for any reason the same will apply to you. Or is it different for you?

What do you call wilderness? I live in town but in a short 5 minute walk I can be in wilderness. The province also promotes wilderness travel and experience and receives much in taxes related to.

    Yeah ok Davy Crocket
