Teen Beaten in Unprovoked Attack Police Say
Prince George, B.C. – A 29-year-old man from New Hazelton is facing charges after police say he attacked a boy on Friday.
Prince George RCMP Cpl. Craig Douglass calls the attack “rare” and “unprovoked” and says it happened at around 10:30 a.m. near Massey Drive and Griffiths Avenue.
“Police arrived and found a 16-year-old male victim. Indications were that an adult male had assaulted the youth without provocation,” he says. “Officers located the suspect a short distance away; however, he failed to obey police commands and fled on foot.”
Douglass says he was caught and arrested in a near by high school parking lot. He says the victim was taken to hospital for treatment of a broken nose and other non-life threatening injuries.
Moses Clifford Johnson was charged with:
- Aggravated assault
- Resist or Obstruct a Peace Officer
Johnson recently moved to Prince George from New Hazelton and has been remanded in custody until his first court appearance today.
