Mackenzie, B.C. – A man from Mackenzie picked up a cheque for $500,000 this week.

Roscoe Hammond won the loot playing the Extra on the March 11 Lotto 6/49 draw.

He says he and his wife sing and dance every time he buys a ticket – something he notes they’ve been doing a lot more of lately.

“I usually do a happy dance and she sings for me,” laughed Hammond. “We haven’t stopped since I won. It’s been non-stop hugging and tears of joy.”

Hammond purchased the winning ticket at the Mackenzie Mall lottery ticket centre. He plans to use the money to invest in his retirement and travel.
