Haggith Creek Crossing to Re-Open to Traffic Next Week

Prince George, B.C. – The City of Prince George is anticipating the Haggith Creek crossing on Willow Cale Road will re-open to single-lane alternating traffic on March 31 at around noon.
The City says final surface details are expected to be concluded and paving completed by early this spring if weather permits. It adds some short-term traffic disruptions are expected to allow the contractor to complete the work.
The Haggith Creek crossing – which is budgeted to cost $2.78 million – has been closed since September to allow work for a new steel girder bridge over Haggith Creek where a culvert beneath the road has deteriorated causing erosion of the road.

Why single lane? This has been closed for 6 months. The worst project I have ever seen. What a joke. Just finish the thing
Now if a bike lane was planned here money would mysteriously appear and this problem would be repaired in short order.
Or if it was a bike lane and the 3 people a year that use it complained.
I think it took less time to build the Alaska Hwy back in 1942, LOL
Tricky engineering here with the erosion
I don’t understand why they just didn’t put another culvert in! In and out in a week and good for another 50 years.
The project has been a joke start to finish. Was supposed to be done in December now only single lane in March? What a city project at work. Lowest bidder with horrible references and the city picks them. I wonder what the total cost will be in the end.
Tricky engineering? LMAO, it’s a bridge over a creek.
