Cougars Update Playoff Schedule

Tuesday, March 21, 2017 @ 10:12 AM

Prince George, B.C. – The Prince George Cougars and Portland Winterhawks have finalized their first-round playoff series schedule.

Game one will still take place this Friday night at CN Centre starting at 7 p.m. However, game two has been moved from Saturday night at 7 p.m. to Sunday night at 5 p.m.  (see playoff schedule below)

Considering it’s 14-hours by bus between Prince George and Portland, Cougars general manager Todd Harkins says they moved game two to Sunday to ensure both teams get enough rest between games.

So, how’s the GM feeling about his team’s chances heading into round one?

“I think when you’re are a division champ you should have the confidence going into a series but they are a good team,” he says. “They’ve got some weapons and you just have to be aware of their weapons and try to counter-attack how they try to play.”

Playoff tickets go on sale at 6 p.m. tonight.

Huh? The 14 hour bus ride is irrelevant, they’re still playing on Friday night and Portland has had plenty of time to get up here for Friday, the regular season ended on Sunday.

Huh? Then they play back to back games in Portland!!We can not take this opponent lightly, they are a forechecking team.

There is more to this than they are saying.
Pre-Booked CN Centre maybe ?

Must be more to this . If they were really considering the 14 hr bus ride they would of gave Por. game 5 at home . Considering that Por. had 1 more regulation win vs the Cougars this season , this series could easily be 7 games . Game 6 + 7 at home with one less rounder to Por. would be the better option imo . It is what it is Go Cougars .
