Prince George, B.C. -Time to start getting yourself in shape for the second annual Climb for Cancer.
Last year, the climb of the cutbanks on P.G. Pulpmill Road, raised just over $30 thousand dollars for Kordyban Lodge, a place where those on a cancer journey can find a home away from home as they undergo treatment.
“I am so excited to be bringing back the Climb for Cancer for the second year” said Northern Lights Estate Winery’s Doug Bell. “It was around this time last year , only four to 6 weeks out from the actual event, that we launched the first Climb. People said ‘are you crazy? why are you doing this?’ We are doing this because it’s the right thing to do.”
This year, there will be music, food and fun for an expected 300 to 500 participants. The event is set for April 22nd from noon to 4 p.m. More than 300 took part in the inaugural event last year, and more than 200 actually climbed the hill.
Participants can register as individuals at as team . Registration is $5 dollars, in addition to whatever dollars the participant is able to fundraise before the climb.
