Prince George, B.C. – There will be a third and deciding game in the BC Major Midget League final series at Kin 1.

Marcus Allen made 19 saves in a solid performance and he and his teammates killed off a two-man deficit for 1:46 in the first period as the Cariboo Cougars forced a decisive third game in the championship final with a 2-0 win over the Greater Vancouver Canadians on Saturday afternoon.
Devin Sutton and Reid Perepeluk scored second-period goals for the Cougars as they evened the best-of-three series 1-1.
The championship will be decided this morning starting at 9:45 am at Kin 1.
Allen wasn’t as busy as he was in Friday’s double overtime game, but many of the shots he faced were difficult and he turned them all aside for his first shutout of the post-season.
Lukas Shaw made 27 saves for the Canadians.
Sutton scored just 16 seconds into the second period, taking the puck in the high slot and firing through a screen to hit the top corner on the blocker side.
The goal set the tone for the entire period as the Cougars outshot the Canadians 15-6 in the middle stanza. But they didn’t score again until 18:42 when Perepeluk fought off two defenders in front and jammed the puck in.
The Cougars held on in the third, limiting the Canadians to four shots in the final 20 minutes and killing off three penalties in the process. Both teams finished the game scoreless on five power play chances.
Game 3, for the title, beginning at 9:45 this morning at Kin 1.
