Suspect in Weekend Semi Shooting Charged with Attempted Murder

Prince George, B.C.- A 38 year old man, believed to be from Ontario, has now been charged with attempted murder after a person was shot and wounded in Chilliwack.
The shooting incident occurred following a string of shootings at semis along highways in the Interior.
Over a 14 hour period, police now confirm 22 semis and one passenger vehicle had been shot at as they travelled highways between Kitimat and Prince George, and from Prince George to 100 Mile House.
On Saturday afternoon, a person was shot in the area of the Ford Mountain Forest Road in Chilliwack, BC. The wounded man was airlifted to hospital and an arrest was made soon after.
Police are also continuing their investigation into a series of vehicle shootings. “We are asking those who may have travelled Hwy 37 on March 24, 2017 between Kitimat and Terrace, Highway 16 between Terrace and Prince George as well as Highway 97 from Prince George to 100 Mile House to carefully examine their vehicle for suspicious damage”, says S/Sgt. Annie Linteau, Senior Media Relations Officer, BC RCMP.
Investigators of the Chilliwack Serious Crime Unit are continuing their investigation of the incident that occurred in the Ford Mountain Forest Service Road area.
Charged with attempted murder in connection with the shooting on Ford Mountain Forest Road is 38 year old Peter Anthony Kampos. He remains in custody.
