Police Seek Witnesses in Shots Fired Incident
Prince George, B.C.- RCMP in Prince George are asking for the public’s assistance in a shots fired incident in the area of Highway 97 yesterday afternoon.
On Tuesday April 11th, 2017 at approximately 1:50 PM, the Prince George RCMP received a report of Shots Fired near a residence located on the 2800 block of Highway 97 near Bellamy Road in Prince George.
Initial indications were that an adult male shot at an adult female when she attended the residence. Police say the two are known to each other.
Multiple officers including a Police Dog Service Team attended the area. Within a few minutes, officers located and arrested a 48 year old male suspect. The residence was cleared for officer and public safety.
A portion of Highway 97 was closed for approximately 15 minutes as a precaution in order to help ensure the safety of the public, as the residence is next to the highway.
No injuries have been reported. The investigation is continuing.
