St. Vincent de Paul Society Set to Host Easter Feast
Prince George, B.C. – Ham, scalloped potatoes and veggies.
That’s just a taste of what people can expect at the St. Vincent de Paul Society’s annual Easter Dinner at the Sacred Heart Auditorium at 785 Patricia Boulevard from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. tomorrow.
“It’s open to anyone who will be alone or will not have Easter dinner at their own home,” says spokesperson Bernie Goold. “Contrary to what people believe, there’s a lot of loneliness out there and people are welcome to come.”
She says a team of 45 volunteers will be putting on the meal.
“Who will be serving it restaurant-style because a lot of people line-up for food when they’re on fixed incomes.”
Goold says they served around 650 people last year but notes tomorrow’s turnout will be weather dependent.
“If the weather is bad it curtails a bit. So, we keep our fingers crossed and say a little prayer and hope it doesn’t rain until after 2.”

I have fond memories with helping out at these special holiday meals and at the drop in itself. Keep up the good work.
