Prince George, B.C. – Highway 97 south of Kersley is now open to single lane, alternating traffic in the wake of a fatal, four-vehicle collision which occurred late Friday afternoon.

One person was killed and several others injured in the crash which involved a Greyhound bus that was travelling from Clinton to Prince George, a car, a pick-up truck and a tractor that was pulling a piece of farm equipment.

The collision occurred at 5:13 pm Friday and the highway remained completely closed, with no detour available, until 3:42 this morning when a single lane was opened to allow traffic to begin move through the collision site.

North District RCMP said late Friday night that one person died at the scene while numerous people suffered injuries that ranged from serious to minor.  The exact number of injured has not been released, nor have home towns of the victims.

Police also indicated that all four vehicles involved were travelling north at the time of the collision, 3 kilometres south of Kersley.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
