Mississauga Takes Bronze
Prince George, B.C. – In a penalty riddled game, the Mississauga Rebels powered through to a victory in the bronze medal game over the Regina Pat Canadians at the Telus Cup earlier today.
The Rebels Calder Lund was first to score for the Rebels on the powerplay at the 10:32 mark of the first period.
The Rebels came out strong in the second period with Massimo Petricca scoring just 1:10 seconds into the second period. Ryan Madigan would notch another one for the Rebels at the 9:45 mark and Evan Benoell would wrap it all up at 7:41 in the third to give the Rebels a 4-1 win over the Pats.
The Regina Pat Canadians would be off the scoreboard in that period, again in the second. It wasn’t until Preston Brodziak scored on the power play in the third that the Pats would score their lone goal in the game.
The Gold Medal game which has the Cape Breton West Islanders face off against Séminaire Saint-François Blizzard from Quebec, gets underway at 3 this afternoon.
