230K British Columbians Cast Ballots in Weekend Advance Polls

Prince George, B.C. – Just over 7 per cent of eligible voters in British Columbia cast ballots in the first two days of advance polling over the weekend.

Elections B.C. says 231,034 of 3,156,991 people exercised their democratic right.

In Prince George-Mackenzie, 1,377 of 32,354 eligible voters turned out over the two days – or just over 4 per cent.

In Prince George-Valemount, 1,650 of 33,449 voters voted – or 5 per cent.

Four more days of advance voting will take place this Wednesday through Saturday. For a list of where you can vote, click here.

In 2013, over 366,000 people – or just over 20 per cent – cast their votes in four days of advance polls.

General Voting Day is set for May 9.
