Highway 16 East Remains Closed by Rockslide

Saturday, May 6, 2017 @ 6:55 AM

Prince George, B.C. – The Alberta Transportation Ministry says Highway 16 remains closed, 5 kilometres east of the BC/Alberta border, as a geo-technical investigation continues at the site of a large rockslide which occurred early Friday morning.

The slide has blocked traffic in both directions and the Alberta ministry’s website says motorists are facing delays of over six hours.   As of this morning there is still no estimated time for getting the highway re-opened.

Further updates are expected today.

Delays of over 6 hrs for what? If the hwy is closed the delay will be for as long as it is closed.
