Prince George, B.C. – Highway 16 from the west gate of Jasper National Park to Jasper is now re-opened to traffic, although delays up to 30 minutes may still be expected.
The highway was closed early Friday morning when a rockslide came down on it, 5 kilometres east of the BC/Alberta border.
The Alberta Transportation Ministry says the highway has re-opened to single lane, alternating traffic. However, it cautions that speed limits and road width have been reduced.
Flag persons and rock scalers are working at the site. Motorists are advised to drive accordingly and obey all road signs.
