Advance Poll Numbers Released
Prince George, B.C. – Advance voting for the May 9th British Columbia General Election has now come to a close, coming to a conclusion around the province on Saturday.
Elections BC says that over the course of the six days in which advance polls were open, the total advance turnout for the province was 614,389. Advance voter turnout over four days in the 2013 provincial election was just over 366,000. That represented 55.32 percent of the eligible voters. The total number of registered voters for the 2017 election is 3,156,991.
In Prince George-Valemount, 5,546 voters took advantage of the advance voting polls. There are 33,449 registered voters in the riding. In Prince George-Mackenzie 5,178 of the 32,354 registered voters cast ballots in the advance polls.
1,066 voters in Prince George-Mackenzie voted at the final advance polls on Saturday while the final day figure in Prince George-Valemount was 942. A total of 126,491 British Columbians voted on Saturday.
Voting at district electoral offices continues right up until 4pm on General Voting Day.
The Prince George-Valemount District Electoral Office is at #401-1777 3rd Avenue.
The Prince George-Mackenzie District Electoral Office is at 1511 Lyon Street.
Voters can find more information on where, when and how to vote on the Election BC website. It includes a Where to Vote application that shows voting places, their hours and directions on a Google Map. The Where to Vote application is located at elections.bc.ca/wtv .
General Voting Day is Tuesday, May 9th and voting locations will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. that day.
