City of Prince George Unveils its Canada 150 Lineup

Friday, May 19, 2017 @ 10:00 AM

Prince George, B.C. – July 1 to 8 will be party time in Prince George.

Today the City unveiled its Canada 150 lineup made possible in large part by $276,000 in funding from the federal government’s Community Fund for Canada 150.

All of this of course to help commemorate Canada’s 150th birthday this summer.

It will include a free, eight-day outdoor music festival, two mural projects, and a variety of other community events.

The music festival – coined Canada 150 Heatwave – will feature local, regional, and nationally acclaimed artists and musicians in Canada Games Plaza for lunch-time and evening concerts (for a full list of entertainment, see below).

The events will be presented by the City, the Prince George Community Foundation, the Community Foundations of Canada, and the Government of Canada.

This line-up of performers for that week makes me want to change my vacation plans to stay in town. Good job whoever organized this. It will be a great week of celebrations!
