Prince George, B.C. – A nice boost for the Breast Health Imaging Centre at the University Hospital of Northern B.C.
The Northbreast Passage Dragon Boat Society has donated $2,500 to the centre which is scheduled to open later this year.
The “one-stop centre” will provide centralized, rapid-access care for patients in Prince George and its surrounding areas.
It will include state-of-the-art digital mammography diagnostics, ultrasound, and treatment all in one location.
“This centre with its state-of-the-art equipment and support will make the frightening experience of a positive diagnosis a little bit easier and we are so pleased that it will be opening soon,” said president Barbara Old.
Judy Neiser, CEO of Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation, was thankful for the support.
“They are our best advocates for what changes were needed and how this approach supports a better standard of care for patients in the North.”
