Prince George, B.C. – Shane Lake is the place to be tonight.

This as the Spruce City Wildlife Association and Freshwater Fisheries of BC are partnering again to release 150 rainbow trout.

Located at Forests for the World, organizers will also be serving up free hot dogs.

“Last year’s event was incredible,” says SCWA president Steve Hamilton. “We had approximately 200 fish to release and people were lined up with their children to take part.”

He says the goal is to “connect children with nature.”

“To help try to foster that love for fish, wildlife and habitat. By putting them directly in touch with their own fish, even for a couple minutes – it gives them a chance to see first hand and up close, a little bit of the beauty of nature.”
