Prince George, B.C. – Good news for podcasters, You-Tubers, gamers and other content creators.

A crowdfunding campaign launched by Hubspace to convert their old bank vault into a content space has exceeded its $4,000 target.

“We’re thrilled that there are a number of supporters in the community who wanted to help create this space in Prince George,” says Matt Hutcheon, executive director of Innovation Central, the organization which operates Hubspace. “We’ll work over the summer to convert the space and install the equipment, and are planning to have the grand opening of the Vault in late September to help us kick off Tech Week in Prince George from September 27-30.”

He says the Vault will include quality audio and video equipment, along with a large TV, gaming hardware and a library of games, a green-screen backdrop and other amenities.

When Hutcheon launched the campaign last month, he told 250News reaction to the idea was overwhelmingly positive.

“People see a need for this and are really excited that there would be a place to go that would have the equipment and give people a venue other than their bedroom or basement to try to do this sort of thing.”
