NCLGA Calls Emergency Meeting
Prince George, B.C. -The North Central Local Government Association has called an emergency meeting for 1 p.m. today.
The Association has been under fire in the wake of sending a letter to the Lieutenant Governor which posed questions about the constitutional validity of the agreement between the NDP and the Greens in B.C. The letter asked if such an agreement “fettered” MLAs from decision making because they are to be expected to support the NDP in matters that would keep the NDP in power.
In an email sent to the membership today, the meeting is outlined as an opportunity to “discuss emerging issues ( the letter to the Lt. Governor), hear member concerns and outline immediate next steps . The meeting will also address what has been labelled as the “potential perception of partisanship”.
The letter ( see previous story here) clearly stated that if the NCLGA’s concerns were not valid, then the letter should be ignored. It also stated the Association did not expect the Lt. Governor to take any action.
