Severe Thunderstorm Watch Issued for P.G.
Prince George, B.C. – It looks like a change in the weather is headed our way.
Environment Canada has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for Prince George and area.
“A low-pressure system will move to the BC Interior this afternoon bringing unsettled weather conditions,” it says in a statement. “Thunderstorms will develop ahead of the front. Some of the thunderstorms have the potential to become severe this afternoon and may be capable of producing strong wind gusts, large hail and heavy rain.”
Rain is forecasted to follow tomorrow before the sunshine is expected to return Saturday night.
Environment Canada reminds people that large hail can damage property and cause injury and note strong wind gusts can toss loose objects, damage weak buildings, break branches off trees and overturn large vehicles.
