Mounties Capture Wanted Man
Prince George, B.C. – The Prince George RCMP have arrested 51-year-old Phillip Thompson Cooper.
Cooper, who recently relocated to Prince George from Terrace, was wanted on two charges – theft under $5,000 and possession of property obtained by crime.
The charges stem from an incident last month where police received a report of a suspicious male trying to open vehicle doors on Gorse Street. Police arrested Cooper in possession of stolen items a short time later.
Cpl. Craig Douglass says police nabbed Thompson last night at the corner of Victoria Street and 17th Avenue. He says Cooper attempted to flee but was captured a short distance later.
Douglass says Cooper was held in custody overnight and will make a court appearance later today. He says more charges against him are likely.
