Washout Closes Highway 20 West of Williams Lake
Williams Lake, B.C. – Motorists are advised to avoid Highway 20 right now.
This after a washout near the Sheep Creek Bridge about 25 kilometres west of Williams Lake.

Search and Rescue, BC Ambulance, the provincial emergency program and RCMP have been called to the scene.
“It was reported that a car traveling along the highway had been washed away in the rushing water,” says North District Cpl. Madonna Sanderson.
“One individual has been safely pulled from the river and taken to hospital for treatment. At this time, it is not known if there are more people or vehicles unaccounted for. SAR helicopter is in the air to assist.”
She says the washout is estimated to be larger than 150 metres and about half a kilometre west of Sheep Creek Bridge.
Saunderson says the Ministry of Transportation is aware of the situation and is assisting investigators.
