Power Outage Affecting Thousands

Prince George, B.C. – Over 2,700 BC Hydro customers are without power in Prince George this hour.
BC Hydro spokesperson Bob Gammer says it was caused by “a downed wire” near the Foothills Boulevard Regional Landfill just after 1 p.m. The outage is affecting residents on the Hart (see map).
He says crews are on route. No word yet on when power will be restored. As a precaution, the Regional District of Fraser-Fort George says they are temporarily closing the landfill to ensure the safety of the public, contractors and landfill staff.
